Hi
Now that my job no longer entails playing with VBA or SQL code, I've turned that into a hobby! (on a serious note, if anyone does know of a voluntary organisation that could use these skills, do drop me a line)
Today's little challenge was to see how easy it was to extract all the tables from the Times/Sunday Times GUG from the web into Excel. The result is at http://privatewww.essex.ac.uk/~rlashley/Times%20extract%20from%20web%20(macro).xlsm. Just download the file, open it, make sure you have macros enabled and press Ctrl+Shift+T (and wait a bit). This is entirely without support and without warranty, but may save some time if it works. I was logged into the Times Online website whist running this, but I've no idea if you need to be when running this. You will need permission (i.e. a subscription) from the Times Group in order to use the data.
Enjoy!
