If nothing has changed on your system, it's hard to figure out what
the problem is likely to be. You could try re-starting MATLAB to see
if that helps (I'm not sure about recent operating system versions,
but older versions used to have a limit on the number of files that
can be open by a process at any time - maybe MATLAB has too many open
files). Maybe also take a look to see if there are any problems with
your hard disk.
