Hi Sarah,
Just caught up with your request.
We have worked with staff at the Scott Polar Research Institute and Polar Museum in Cambridge to produce an interactive for some of their historic collections of photographs and on one collection we included diary extracts from explorers from a 1912 expedition. We recorded some local drama students reading the diary extracts and produced an engaging interactive whereby the audio files are initiated by selecting images of the diary front covers. The full text can also be read by the end user on the screen. With the text fully digitised, we could readily produce a search system for the end user.
Alan.
