Importance: High
Dear Mr. Hilsdon,
I have recently become aware of the request below. I realise that time is short but would like the opportunity to discuss writing about my research, Seeing is Believing, for the Journal. Earlier this year I became was the winner of the poster competition at the Conference and would like the opportunity to share more.
I conducted a small action research project and a one week workshop to ascertain if visually impaired students were able to participate in fashion - pattern cutting, and garment construction at the London College of Fashion. With reasonable adjustments the students did remarkably well and aspects of the findings is now transferred to my classes.
I have since presented twice on the topic, most recently on the cultural capital of the visually impaired and would like to consider using this as an article for the Journal.
Please contact me by email [log in to unmask] or by mobile 07727 914 899.
kind regards,
Claudette Davis-Bonnick

Subject: JLDHE 6: call for papers
Dear colleagues
On behalf of the JLDHE editorial group I am writing to invite contributions to issue 6 of the Journal of Learning Development in Higher Education, to be published in December 2013.
We welcome material based on presentations presented at the recent ALDinHE conference. The increasing levels of interest in Learning Development as a field of practice over the last decade are reflected in growing numbers of colleagues undertaking research along with doctoral and other kinds of study into LD practice; including theoretical work using social and sociocultural approaches in particular. Our journal offers opportunities for publication of work that draws on research, practice and critical reflection in the form of papers; research reports; case studies; and opinion pieces related to Learning Development and all aspects of HE learning in the UK and internationally.
For information about the JLDHE and how to register as an author or reviewer, please see our website at www.aldinhe.ac.uk/ojs or if you wish to discuss writing or reviewing for the JLDHE, please respond to this email.
Our deadline for receipt of material to be considered for issue 6 is 15th August; however we would like to hear from potential contributors to issue 6 as quickly as possible.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes
John
PS ALDinHE the next newsletter will include introductions to the new editorial team.
