Hi All
Don't know if anyone has been following the current debate about the attempts to close the Skate Park in the South Bank Undercrofts. Apparently it has 40 plus years of uninterrupted 'skate' heritage and is seen as the birth place of British Skating. Not really my thing but I do have a paper due out soon about rave culture which includes some comments about the continuing demolition of the old rave venues and the way kids are being chased out of the urban landscape. Seems to be obvious parallels to this situation. I'm sure the people in the campaign would love some help from academics who understand the importance of modern cultural legacies and could make a case for insitu preservation....
