The Division:
The Vigilance and Risk Management of Medicines (VRMM) Division protects public health by ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of medicines, including the provision of information to promote safe and effective use.
Purpose of Role:
Accountable to the Epidemiology Unit Manager in VRMM, the purpose of this role is to conduct pharmacoepidemiological studies and quantitative analyses to help inform regulatory decision-making on drug safety issues for marketed medicines.
Key responsibilities:
1) Undertake population based pharmacoepidemiological studies using appropriate data sources to evaluate potential associations between medicines and adverse events
2) Provide drug exposure information to support pharmacovigilance assessments
3) Contribute to methodology development related to conducting pharmacoepidemiological studies
