I'll pass this over to the main developer list. There has been a thread there on some pages behaving differently in different browsers.

Can you provide a link to the url?

Alistair

Hi,

We were presenting a CPD event on Xerte to college staff yesterday. Two You-tube videos embedded within the HTML 5 presentation appeared blank similarly an interactive map with hotspots added. When we switched the document to Flash everything was as normal (we lost a little formatting on one page).

We use IE 9 at college.

Last night I played the HTML 5 Learning Object within Chrome and it worked fine.

Can anyone offer any solutions as we are looking to add an "Induction" Learning Object to our VLE in September to support the student induction programme?

Thanks

Ian

Would it be possible to find from the college which browser / version they have? It would be interesting to find out - especially if you can't replicate it at home.

HI

Many thanks everyone

Will try with some other browsers next time I am in the college, it was the very first page which was a straight forward image/text page [Advanced Media Image]with no additional HTML or otherscript.

It opens fine on my ipad ditto open my home computer on several browsers so it must be something to do with computer setting at the college I was at.... but unless I can identify what the problem is am going to need to use Flash for demos elsewhere which is not ideal. Creating two versions is not really ideal either although is one option.

Many thanks

Barbara

I've experienced this on a few occasions with the Chrome browser but bizarrely it almost always works if I refresh after a few minutes.

The only other thing that can cause problems is if you add bits of code in the text field - I was doing a demo page to show what Maths formulae look like and sound like to a blind person but the code I cut and pasted into the text field got misinterpreted by Xerte as code to execute!

Hi

Has any one had the same issue with Xerte HTML5 version - having decided to use it instead of the Flash option (you can not just switch between the two, as the images layout goes all over the place) and went to demo at a local college. I had not used the URL or embed link at home.

However when using either the URL or Embed code, to show the activity, while the first screen showed on the screen initially it did so very briefly and then presented a white screen and no object. Has any one come-across this already and apologies if this has already been discussed.

I have not tried it on my ipad/iphaone as yet

Many thanks

Barbara

Hi Barbara

We had something similar, it seems to be around the embedded page. Ours went black and we were unable to navigate past this page. It turns out the embedded code we used from YouTube needed cleaning up and we had to change page type to YouTube Video page. I have created a LO in 1.8 but when I toggle to HTML 5 in 2.0 the embedded webpage doesn’t display correctly (only header section visible), which reminds me I need to play with that LO today. Good luck with the embedded page, hope you get it sorted.
