I expect poetryetc is very quiet because it's summer in the north.
Here's a story of hibernation from my old friend Colin in Queensland - he reports:
...an incident that happened to [his wife] Jane recently: she took down our bed curtains (half-tester) to wash, and as she was hanging them out discovered with something of a shock (I heard her from afar) that there was a leaf-tailed gecko clinging to one.
It had been through the washing machine, fortunately on a cold and gentle cycle.
It survived, and indeed doesn't seem to want to leave our bedroom - perhaps it rather appreciated the swim.
Jane hung it back up with the curtain, and it moves about a bit, but not much because in principle it's hibernating. Though the temperature in the house is mild enough for it to move when it feels like it.
At the moment it's hibernating about 50 cm above my pillow.
