Hello all - I've recently had this email from a group working on behalf of the EU.
-
"I am contacting you on behalf of the European Commission. You might have already heard of the Initiative "Opening Up Education" (in the frame of the LifeLongLearning program of the European Commission DG EAC). Part of this initiative shall be the transformation of the current elearning Europa platform into a new platform named "Open Education Europa". This new platform will be launched in September this year.
An essential new section will be included and give visibility to all European OER institutions, universities, educational centers or academies whom will -by this means- be able to present/market their Open Educational Resources and the Open Course Ware or MOOCs included in their profile to a large European Community. Please see further information in the PDF attached.
We are now initiating contacts. In case you have any OER materials, MOOCs or courses offered at your University/Institution, we would love to include and feature them on our platform. To do so, we would need a URL or RSS feed, a logo and a short description of your institution.
From September 2013, your OER contents will be available on the new portal. Moreover, we shall share and disseminate your information through our communication channels and social media.
With your valuable contribution, we can start building Europe´s biggest online education platform. Please find all additional information in the PDF attached and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or ideas you might have."
