Chris, thank you for the prompt reply, I was not assuming that the hairnets are causing the issues, I have not seen any of these employees yet, I know there are at least 10 who have been referred for an Occ. health assessment and I am just "lining my ducks up" first before I get to assessments (literature review stage at present) - One employee has already supplied a note from their GP stating that dermatitis is caused by hairnets. The plant management has issued an instruction that, unless there is a defined medical reason, the employees will no longer be allowed to use 'cloth' caps as they have been todate. I suspect this is the spark that has generated this particular flurry of referrals.
