Hi Alun,
If the object is two dimensional you will probably be able to take the
picture from below and 'distort' it in Photoshop afterwards to correct the
skew.
For objects behind glass, that also enables a surprising 'trick of the
trade' that dramatically reduces the effects of reflections.
Alternatively there are perspective control lenses but I don't think
anything that exotic should be necessary.
The lighting is likely to be more of a challenge than the angle.
I should be in Oxford the week after next if you would like me to take a
look at your challenge.
Kind regards,
Dave.

Subject: Photographing art high on a wall
Dear all,
I am looking for examples of photographers digitising art, which is high on
a wall. This could be from a cherry-picker, however the image I know I have
seen in the recent past is photographers using a camera mounted on an
extendible pole. Maybe this is an image of National Trust conservators at
work, or some Wiki Loves Public Art volunteers at work. The camera would be
controlled remotely from a laptop, tethered on the floor.
Does anyone have an image of this activity or can anyone point to references
for this work?
I am considering how to photograph a large inscription on a wall in a public
atrium.
Thanks Ally
