Ruskin College are seeking a Visiting Tutor to teach a module on
Campaigning on Race, Class and Gender in the USA during the
Twentieth-Century. The module forms part of the Diploma in Higher
Education programme (equivalent to the second year of a degree course)
in History with Social Science.
Ruskin College is situated in Headington, Oxford and teaching will take
place in the Autumn Term, between 30th September and 13th December
2013. The Visiting Tutor will be expected to teach one five-hour class
a week, and set and mark the end-of-term assessments. Assessment is by
means of a written examination and a presentation.
This is a new module. The Visiting Tutor is required due to remission
being given to a permanent member of staff, and it is highly likely
that a VT will be needed again in 2014. Payment will be at standard
Ruskin rates.
Ruskin College is an adult education college with strong links to the
labour movement, and the students being taught are mature students.
