Dave,
Generally I like the idea of a gridpp technical stream . However I have the following comments
1. Rather than change the cloud mailing list - I would just use TB-support - it already has everyone you need on it - and I've even thought the storage list was a bit redundant sometimes in reaching a subset of the community.
2. Similarly I would hope there was a way to merge the "storage" and "technical" meetings - we already talk about broader topics on wed and have talked before about rebadging _that_ meeting as "technical" rather than "storage" . Best to avoid increasing meetings if we can - and if people don't make it to both then we will duplicate discussions.
3. If the technical meeting will be free discussion as we allow sometimes in the storage meeting (and which has some appeal)- then it should be very restricted in time (as the storage meeting is).
4. If it is a wider "technical" meeting then "cloud" should obviously not take up the whole mtg on a regular basis or else there would have to be an agenda before hand so people know when to show up.
I am a bit nervous about meeting/mission creep you see - friday afternoon was once my only meeting free time ;-0
Anyway as I say I like the idea in general - I do think we should broaden our technical interest from being mainly storage focussed.
cheers
Wahid
