Dear all,
We are representing a client from Kismayo, Somalia. He has been rejected at first instance in part because the decision maker was unable to establish his former residence as Kismayo or country of nationality as Somalia.
We are aware that in some jurisdictions, language analysis is used to help establish whether an asylum seeker is from Somalia. Are there any experts, not necessarily a linguist, but someone familiar with the Somali language and the dialects/accents from Kismayo, who could assist with a brief opinion? The deadline for submission of his appeal is 1 August 2013.
If you can help or can connect us with somebody who can help, please contact us at [log in to unmask] Many thanks in advance for your assistance!
Kind regards,
Roanna Tay
