Put the swf file in the media folder in the zip. You'll probably find it hasn't exported?

I am sure this will be a straight forward question for some-one!
I have created a Xerte activity which has incorporated a SWf file (in the new window navigator) works fine. When I export and try and view via the index no swf, I am tried doing what I have done with the images which change the link so it links just to media/myfile.swf but of course the link is supposed to be a direct URL, no joy , does this mean I cant play swf files unless I have imported the zipped file to another installation instead of just uploading to Moodle as a learning object.
Also; same problem exists with my page with has Youtube link. While on my installation works file but does not display anything on the page when exported and accessed purely via the index.
My installation is uptodate on LearningApps.
Anyone with any ideas?
I am also plodding along with my maths activities - getting some great ideas on Xerte, but could I put a plea for next time there is an update could some-thing be done regarding the LATEX issue of the disappearing \\ as it getting very time consuming having to re-insert them every-time I need to edit (unless some-one has found an answer??)
