Next Generation Rail is a two-day conference targeted to early-career researchers and young rail professionals and targeted at building the community of tomorrow's rail leaders and educators
Why should you attend this event?

* Have a chance to shape the message to inspire young people to choose rail as their future career
Take part in the 'Next Generation Rail' competition and win a cash prize.
The teams will have a choice between two target audiences: undergraduate students - for this, the challenge will be to create a video to take to university career fairs around the country OR school-age children - in this case, they will have to develop ideas for an interactive exhibition for next year Big Bang fair.
* Get first-hand experience in a real rail working environment!

Day 1 will start with a networking lunch. The day will be devoted to presentations and posters of current rail-related PhD students and early-career researchers. Keynote speakers include: Amanda White, Senior Route Engineer North West, HS2 and Gil Howarth, Chief Executive, NSARE. The day will end with a sit-down dinner (dinner guest speaker to be announced soon) and some evening entertainment...
Day 2 will open with a whistle-stop tour of young rail professional testimonials. A Rail Technology Representative will introduce the newly established UKRITT (UK Rail Industry Training Trust). Lucy McAuliffe, Young Rail Professional of the Year 2013 will be the keynote speaker of the day.
