Dear All,
The DPU is very happy to invite participants for the dpusummerLab 2013 workshop series. Please feel free to circulate to potential candidates.
The Bartlett Development Planning Unit’s summerLab series draws on the progressive action-research ethos of the DPU in collaboration with local partners. The workshops aim to leverage the reality of the city as a laboratory for developing socially and politically conscious interventions that are intended to provoke the minds and actions of urban practitioners in reconsidering the role and process of design in promoting spatial justice.
Geared toward students and emerging professionals from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, the workshops offer a vital testing ground for hybridized spatial responses to particular contextual challenges and phenomena.
Each uniquely geographical and thematic workshop blends complementary expert input and short methodological seminars with hands-on field investigations and exercises that allow for direct interactions with communities and beneficiaries.
The schedule of the DPU summerLab 2013 series is:
Medellin (Colombia) – Growth in Transit: 26 - 31 Aug
Santiago (Chile) – Providencia in Transformation : 2 – 7 Sept
Rome (Italy) – Occupation City: 9 – 14 Sept
London (UK) – Localising Legacies: 16 – 21 Sept
APPLICATIONS and FEES
