Hi Anne,
I have done a quite a few SharePoint migrations over the years and have
yet to see SharePoint per say used for record management, good for
document management and collaborative working. For pure record
management I have had to add an EDRM to run along side it - Meridio,
Hummingbird etc - so as to meet the legal admissibility aspect of a
"record". The inclusive record centre in SharePoint is good but in
essence is just a really locked down teamsite/document library. There
are tools on the market from AI etc which provides additional lock down
for records management and they are worth a look at.
I would suggest you define what you want from your record management
with respect to the legal admissibility of the information and the
record being frozen in time and fully auditable, this will then point to
whether you require the full belt and braces or just a record store.
Many Regards

Subject: Sharepoint for Records Management -Scotland Region
Hello all,
I am looking for some feedback from any records management professionals
who have had experience in implementing Sharepoint for records
management within their organisation.
Particularly interested in those who are based in Scotland, even better
if within the Education sector. However failing that, if anyone out
there has sucessfully implemented Sharepoint as their records management
repository, please could you contact me.

Much appreciated.
