Liverpool Scholarship Online has launched on Oxford University Presss University Press Scholarship Online (UPSO) platform. It promises to provide 'instant and comprehensive access to the full text of 223 titles of the highest academic quality across four subject areas history, literature, political science, and society and culture.
Anthony Cond, director of Liverpool University Press, said: 'Liverpool has a vibrant, dynamic university press that has grown significantly in recent years by meeting the needs of particular scholarly subject niches. Partnership with Oxford in Liverpool Scholarship Online offers a cutting-edge continuation of that service on a state-of-the-art platform, which will be welcomed by librarians, readers and researchers.'
Niko Pfund, president of OUP, added: 'At a time when the headlines would have you think that the publishing industry, and the university press world, is perched on the abyss, Liverpool University Press stands as a refreshing counterpoint to hyperbolic doom-saying. Relying on a strategic focus on core strengths and an astute editorial eye, the press has steadily expanded in both size and influence over the last decade. Were very pleased to be working with such a smart and dynamic publishing house.'
