An excellent opportunity has arisen for a medical statistician to join a team of geneticists, statisticians and clinical epidemiologists, to work on the China Kadoorie Biobank study. This study investigates the lifestyle, behavioural, environmental and genetic factors contributing to the aetiology of common chronic diseases. We are seeking a self-motivated and well-organised person with training and experience in medical statistics and who has good computational, writing and communication skills, to assist with further development of the study and with data analysis of this important health resource, particularly in the area of genetic epidemiology.
Your primary responsibilities will include planning and undertaking statistical analyses and monitoring of genomic, cross-sectional and longitudinal study data using standard and novel techniques, which will contribute to scientific papers, and also to developing the study database and maintaining its quality. You will work within a growing team of geneticists, epidemiologists and statisticians, and will contribute to the design, running and interpretation of clinical research, helping to establish the environmental and genetic determinants of chronic disease.
An MSc or PhD in statistics and experience of statistical analysis using SAS, R/S-PLUS or Stata are essential.
