There are education officers at almost every Anglican cathedral in the country, and also some of the Roman Catholic cathedrals, providing extensive learning programmes for all keystages, not just involving RE, but also history, literacy, art, science, maths and much more. If you visit the cathedral websites you will see the extent of the programmes on offer. (I was, until recently, senior education officer at Rochester Cathedral). I will post your request on the cathedral education officers' chat list and ask people to reply directly to you (but of course this is a very busy time of year for school visits so I would recommend looking at the websites just in case my colleagues are too busy to give much help).

Subject: Learning - Museums and Religious sites
I have been asked by the Diocese of Chelmsford to write a paper on the potential for “church visiting”. Much of this will be taken up with tourism, However coming at this task as a volunteer in museums I am aware that religious buildings are a valuable source of local interest stories etc. Therefore I am very interested to hear of any case studies where Museums have relationships with local religious buildings. I am interested in failures as well as successes.
