Dear Colleagues,
The second workshop on the naturalist and antiquarian Thomas Pennant will be held in the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth 7-8th June 2013. The event is sponsored by the British Academy and is free, though there will be a small charge for lunch and coffee. The keynote lecture, ‘Pennant on Snowdon’ is by the author and climber Jim Perrin. There are also papers on Pennant’s use of historical figures, his botanical legacy, his links to contemporary artists (Paul Sandby, Moses Griffith), his archaeological work and his politics.
