I am reminded, Pat, of the monologue in Wim Wenders's Paris, Texas, itself based on Ulysses stories I believe,
where Travis recounts to his estranged wife an account of their besottedness with each other, then the long
decline and eventual burning of their shared trailer home and his running for twenty four hours into the desert.
Dark side indeed but it did lighten up, after a fashion. There's a place for honesty but two honesties, one hard
on the other can often be heavily freighted.
Cheers,
Bill
