I think it's important to be aware that many alternative terms to describe sex workers are very loaded.
Have you considered approaching an agency that works with sex workers (UK NSWP is the only one I'm aware of but there must be more) as they may have some educational material that you could access. Or just asking some local schools for preferred terms?

Hi
My curator of art and I are currently writing labels and resources relating to an area which was highly frequented by prostitutes and their boarding houses during the mid Victorian era. I wondered if anyone had a way of describing said prostitutes etc which would be suitable for the KS2 that the resources are aimed at?
Thanks in advance
Helen
