Similarly to Paul and Keith, I have used WebPA as part of grades from
levels 3 (foundation year), through diploma and honours stage (degree),
as well as at taught masters.
We use it for modules where there are a mix of assessment types, for
example I have a final year (honours stage) module where students do an
individual exercise for 50% of the module mark, and then a team activity
for the other 50%
A key element for acceptance is that students are clearly told:
i) final marks are moderated by academic staff - and so may have been
changed from the initial WebPA outcomes;
ii) there is a clear mechanism to address issues within teams - we offer
group interviews for teams where they feel WebPA may not reflect the
actual situation. Though in practice this is rarely needed;
iii) as part of the team activity, the team's record their
communications/progress and documents on a group site (in our case
Sharepoint team sites). As a computer science department, we utilise
Subversion (SVN) for the code repository so that we can always track
contributions.

Neil
> Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. We are considering
whether or not to pilot WebPA but before making a decision I would like
to know if anyone is using it in modules that count towards degree
classification? Colleagues I'm working with have concerns about
jeopardy in relation to a student's classification.
