Dear WAN,
*PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE FOR THIS EVENT*
I wanted to let you know about the upcoming 'Stand up, dear city' workroom, based out of Bristol (blurb below)
'Stand up, dear city' is a monthly collaborative workroom for the curious, the bored and the restless. Each month a different theme will guide a group on a walk through the city of Bristol and its surrounding spaces. Through a series of activities (tactics) we will interrogate what we consider to be hidden, overlooked, obvious, familiar, mundane and spectacular. We will question for example, how we view the city, how we act in the city, how we use the city and how, if possible, can we goad the city into action'.
This month's theme for Stand up, dear city is: (t h e A U D I B L E)
(t h e A U D I B L E) will look at how sounds help to define the city of Bristol and how we can shift the way we see the city through listening to its soundtrack. We will listen for the hidden sounds, those waiting for a willing listener, and those which boldly sound without any prompt . A series of sonic explorations will take us to a new understanding of the city's sound.
--------------------------------------
It will take place on 13th of April, from 11am - 2pm.
£5 will get you a hot drink prior to the walk, materials for the walk and soup and bread afterwards.
Meeting point: Beatroot cafe, 20-21 Lower park row, Bristol, BS1 5BN
