Hi Tony,
Just to say we have Mimsy XG and AssetIndex+ as our collections database and digital asset system respectively.
For collection assets we use OAI to transfer data from our Mimsy database, while our initial setup consists of an export program from our DAMS and a separate import (Media Upload) to Mimsy to get the appropriate image files exported and linked to our collection data. For the moment this gives us more control over transferring data around without risking the integrity of our collections database although at some point in the longer term we will probably look at something with a bit less human intervention.
Please let me know if you would like any further information about the setup.
Best wishes,
Sheila

Subject: DAM systems integration with CMS databases
Can anyone offer any advice on integrating DAM systems with CMS databases? Pitfalls, recommended solutions, thoughts and the like?
I know OpenCulture is coming up so one of our staff will be attending.
Regards
Tony
