Job Description
We currently have a vacancy in our Asset Data Management team for an experienced GIS Systems Support role This key role will support the technical capabilities of the existing GIS technical support team. The role will also assist in the support and delivery of business GIS solutions utilising Esri’s newer technologies. The key role requires practical hands on technical support and also the extension of GIS capabilities within the Wessex Water GIS enterprise.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED.
• Exposure to other ESRI technology in a business environment essential
• ArcGIS Server (9.3 and/or 10.0 or later) development and deployment experience preferred
• C# .NET 2.0 or higher, and exposure to ArcObjects preferred
• SQL Server 2005 / 2008 experience preferred
• Development\deployment experience using ArcGIS Mobile
• Scripting using Python\ArcPy
• Knowledge of the water supply and sewerage networks is preferred.
Support areas:
• Support and maintenance of elements of the current corporate GIS enterprise solutions.
• Support and enhance the availability of Esri ArcGIS web based data and software solutions.
• Support and enhance the availability of Esri Mobile solutions
• Undertake required data processing, QA of quality and consistency
• Work closely with the Principle GIS Developer and the GIS team.
Personal competencies for the role:
• IT academic qualification degree level or similar
• the ability to communicate effectively throughout the company is essential
• the ability to work effectively in an office based environment
• good attention to detail and accuracy
• the ability to work under moderate supervision with self motivation and initiative
• good organisational skills.
