Senergy Survey and Geoengineering (S&G) is a leading provider of project management and consultancy services to the offshore Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy industries. S&G has significant experience and capability delivering services to its clients across the life cycle of a project from preliminary assessment studies through to final completion.

Senergy S&G’s principal disciplines and expertise are  listed below:

Geophysical site and route surveys
Geotechnical assessment, engineering and operations
Offshore construction, installation and trenching
Subsea inspection
Offshore project management, coordination and quality control
Data management services.


The Geotechnical Lead will:

Support the business’ and external clients’ technical delivery and strategic goals
Own, manage and develop key business lines
Contribute to the strategic direction of the business
Provide technical oversight and direction for the 12-strong team helping to provide the knowledge and insight to resolve complex engineering problems
Demonstrate integrated thinking and working with other S&G offices to achieve desired goals
Share the management of a highly qualified and experienced team of engineers and technicians
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the business’ management and technical systems
Demonstrate a strong project management skill set
Have an excellent working knowledge of geotechnical codes and standards
Manage client relationships and projects
Mentor and coach junior staff members, this is a key aspect of the role, good interpersonal skills
Demonstrate a strong health, safety and environmental and regulatory compliance record and an ongoing commitment
Receive world-class opportunities working with our experienced discipline professionals and wide variety of clients

Primary Function

Design and execution management of offshore geotechnical site investigations and integrated geoscience data acquisition programmes
Assessment, interpretation and analysis of integrated site investigation data leading to delivery of engineering guidance and recommendations
Provision of high value geotechnical and foundation design support, guidance and technical assurance
Geohazard evaluation and risk assessment and mitigation advice
Support of exploration and facilities development projects
Supervision, management and delivery of a variety of study types
GIS and visualisation

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree in an engineering subject, preferably civil engineering
Applicants will be in a strong position if they have a post-graduate degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
 Substantial experience in a similar or relevant role, preferably within the oil and gas industry 
Good analytical and numerical skills
Good negotiation and communication skills

Experience and Competencies

Significant post graduate leadership experience in a similar role in offshore geotechnical engineering
Strong oil and gas background
Site investigation contracting experience
Foundation design experience
Geohazard assessment experience
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Worked internationally
Deep water experience
Motivated self-starter and a multi-disciplinary team player
Ability to take the lead in challenging and demanding situations
Ability to work with all levels of people including client management, engineers, geophysicists, drillers, geologists, field operation staff, etc.
Willingness to travel away from home office for up to 25% of working time
Pragmatic problem-solver and decision maker
Organised and able to prioritise
Accountable
Business aware
