County Archivist - County Hall, Hertford
This exciting and challenging role requires a professionally qualified archivist with experience at senior level of delivering a local authority archive service. Based in Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies (HALS), within Hertfordshire County Council’s Heritage Services, you will manage, develop and monitor the archive service and lead the work of the archives team. As the Senior Professional for Archives, you will provide expertise and advice, also taking a strategic lead for managing change in the area of digital archives, including policies and procedures for digital preservation and born digital media. You will have considerable knowledge of best professional practice and current issues relating to archives. An excellent communicator, you will have well developed interpersonal and leadership skills, able to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers, staff, and stakeholders, and with a proven track record in project and budget management.
