Hi
Across our SharePoint course sites, all staff (including Library) have read access. Our Subject Librarian team (Curriculum support) have elevated edit rights across the course sites within the Faculties they support. They can then help populate these with library resources, e-book links etc.
As we begin to add Moodle functionality to our portal we will aim to emulate this level of access, probably by using custom roles as described in another response.
Thanks

Subject: [VLES] Library and Student Support Staff roles in VLEs
Hi
Has anyone set up roles in the VLE at VLE admin level for Library staff or Student Support Staff e.g. to have read access to all courses or the ability to self-enrol/un-enrol for read, guest or instructor access? The reasoning behind this would be to enable these members of staff to help students (particularly distance learning students) and staff with enquiries about Vision courses e.g. with queries about library content/links in courses?
I'm hoping to find out what other institutions do in order to inform what we do here.
Many thanks
Kind regards
Marion Kennedy
