Yes, for Kant culture is the ultimate end of what it means to be human.
So Deleuze saying he does not believe in culture indicates that he does
not wish to believe in an ultimate end to being human. There is always
becoming and this can be becoming human, as becoming animal and becoming
woman.
Deleuze, like Marx, is a profound humanist who has a belief in the
future of becoming human. The same can be said for Foucault. I do not
know what to make of academic writers who like to claim Marx, Deleuze
and Foucault are anti-humanists? (Deleuze's suicide is not the ultimate
end of being human. He was simply too sick to keep living and wanted to
try flying as a falling to the pavement. A rather interesting
materialist statement.)
I am just now writing a longish blog article concerning this... will
post when I get it done.
