Interesting that you refer to "people with disabilities". I thought we'd moved on to recognise that disability was caused by other people failing to accommodate someone with an impairment? Ie disability is a social matter, a form of exclusion, or a best a failure to include.
Confused in trying to keep up ....
With regards,
John

There's a page on my website, www.autistichoya.com<http://www.autistichoya.com>, that lists ableist terms, including lame, and gives very succinct explanations. It's a page linked in the menu on the top. Hope that helps?

Subject: FW: "lame"
A colleague is looking for a source to send someone to concerning disablist language. He is seeking something that specifically would trouble the unreflexive use of the word ‘lame’. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Claudia
