From April of this year, the Care Quality Commission will have a new role of monitoring and reporting upon the information governance practices of the health and social care providers we regulate.
We're recruiting a National Information Governance Committee, whose role will be to advise us on how to fulfil this function.

This new function, and the requirement to establish an NIGC, were introduced under section 280 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
