Dear Colleague
The ADLS Safe Researcher training course has been designed to provide researchers with the skills and knowledge to use administrative data in a responsible and safe manner. The course consists of six different modules covering an introduction to administrative data in the UK, the law relating to using personal data for research, data security, good practice in administrative data analysis, disclosure risk and how to make applications.
The course has been endorsed by the major government departments in the UK, as well as the Information Commissioner's Office. The course is also an approved method to access both the NHS Scotland main administrative health datasets and the Scottish Government linked Social Care, Housing and Health dataset.
There are a few places remaining in London on the 5th April 2013. The cost is subsidised at £45 including lunch and refreshments. More information and booking details are available from http://www.adls.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/ADLS-Safe-Researcher-Course-2013.pdf.
