FIXED TERM CONTRACT SEPTEMBER 2013 JULY 2015 - WITH POTENTIAL TO BE EXTENDED
Applications are invited for a new lectureship in French / Francophone Studies at the University of Chester from candidates with a PhD in French/Francophone Studies and an emerging research profile in their specialised field. The successful applicant will have native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written French and will be expected to make a key contribution to teaching across the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Teaching duties will include core undergraduate French language modules incorporating culture and area studies. This is a new post offering the successful candidate an opportunity to make an individual contribution to the development of new modules and programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Applications from candidates with teaching and research interests in Francophone Area Studies, postcolonial studies, translation studies, and/or language pedagogy will be particularly welcome. Candidates with interests in other areas of contemporary and colonial studies are also encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be expected to play an active part in the Department's research community, and take a share of the Department's academic administration and organisational responsibilities in keeping with the role.
