About the seminar:
Train travellers have opportunity to use travel time more productively. This opportunity has been increasing by the widespread ownership of the personal electronic devices such as smartphone, tablet computer and laptop. Study in 1980's found that in average the perceived travel time by train travellers is 8% higher than actual (Wilson 1983). It was hypothesised that the use of such devices influences the perception of travel time. This study examine factors influences the perception of time regarding the activities conducted whilst travelling by different characteristic of traveller on different type of journey.
About the presenter:
Yosritzal is a lecturer of Transportation Engineering at Andalas University and currently doing his PhD studies at TORG, Newcastle University.
Previously he has done some researches in the area of discrete choice modelling related to public transport operations.
