Senior Editorial Assistant, Oryx- The International Journal of
Conservation, Fauna & Flora International
Salary: £26,500-£27,500
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration of Contract: Two-year fixed term contract (with potential to
extend subject to business need and funding availability)
Location: Cambridge, UK
FFI is seeking a Senior Editorial Assistant to join the Oryx editorial
team. With a passion for detail that enables you to know when—and when
not—to use an em dash and an Oxford comma, you’ll also be able to step
back to see the bigger picture involved in the production of a quarterly
scientific journal. You will have undergraduate and postgraduate
qualifications in conservation, environmental studies, or a related
subject, and experience of copyediting scientific articles. With
excellent writing, organisational and prioritising skills you will be
highly motivated, show initiative and have the ability to work both
independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be expected to become involved in all
aspects of the journal production process, as well as working closely
with colleagues in the Conservation Capacity team to deliver Oryx’s
capacity building work. S/he will be an ambassador for the journal
within FFI and among FFI’s partners and the conservation community. This
is a dynamic position that will suit an individual with the desire to
shape the future of a well-respected conservation journal.
Please see http://www.fauna-flora.org/about/jobs/ for further details of
the position and how to apply.
The closing date for applications is Monday 15th April 2013. No agencies
please.
