Posted on behalf of Buxton Museum:
'Collections in the Landscape', a project to develop the visitor experience
at Derbyshire County Council's Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, is supported
by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
'Collections in the Landscape' will use a range of digital applications to
interpret the collections at the museum and link them to the places where
they were found. The collections are principally geology and archaeology
from the Peak District, and include fine art landscapes of Derbyshire.
Alongside the development of virtual access, the museum intends to redevelop
the principal gallery, the Wonders of the Peak.
A museum interpretation specialist is sought to research the audience need,
technological, financial and practical logistics of developing improved
virtual access to the collections held at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery,
both in the museum and outside, in the countryside, and to explore the
gallery improvement, develop the activity plan and mentor the project team
as they develop the Stage 2 application to HLF.
Submissions to be returned by 17th April.
