Following the success of our last joint event in 2010 the West Midlands CDG and ARLG divisions are running a ‘Librarians as Teachers’ event:
LAT 2013: Engaging Learners in the Digital Age
Thursday 13th June 2013 10.00 – 16.30
Wolfson Research Exchange, Warwick University, CV4 7AL
The aim of this day is to provide information professionals with an opportunity to hear and exchange best practice. The day will consider not only practical strategies, but also how our own behaviours can have an effect on how we engage learners in the digital age.
Keynote sessions from:
• Prof David Nicholas of CIBER Research on the ways in which people learn and look for information in today’s digital world
• Jane Secker & Emma Coonan - authors of 'Rethinking information literacy: a practical framework for learning', and creators of ANCIL (A New Curriculum for Information Literacy)
Other sessions will include a number of case studies from different learning backgrounds and include an interactive, fun session on Evaluating Teaching.
