Dear Colleagues,
the annual informal seminar on Central Mediterranean Prehistory will be
held this year May 15th in Cambridge. As most of you know, this is a
long-standing event where people who work on any prehistoric period in the
Central Med can come and present their work and talk with colleagues.
Organisers this year are John Robb ([log in to unmask]) and Guillaume Robin
([log in to unmask]).
Researchers of all kinds (including academics, post-docs, PhD students and
independent scholars from the UK and overseas) are welcome; the geographic
area covered includes Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Malta, the eastern
Adriatic coast, southern France, and Mediterranean areas of North Africa.
Papers will probably be about 15 minutes (we will establish the format when
we know how many people would like to present their work. We'll arrange the
programme to accommodate as many researchers as possible; some may be asked
to present posters).
The meeting will take place at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological
Research, Cambridge University, from about 10.30 a.m. to about 5 p.m. There
is no cost; lunch and breaks will be provided and there are some small
funds available to partially reimburse unwaged and overseas participants
for their travel.
If you are interested in presenting your work, please send a title to John
and Guillaume know by the deadline April 1st. We'll then get back to you
about mid-April with a programme and more details on paper format, etc.
