We are currently looking to recruit a GIS Technician within our expanding team in Wimbledon. Initially the post will be on a 6 month fixed contract with the potential for this to be extended for the right Candidate.
The role would ideally suit recent graduates with previous experience of ArcGIS v10 in a commercial environment.
Based in the Environment and Planning Sector of the company the work will mainly include GIS input into projects of that nature so a background or interest in this area would help.
Your role will include:
Data capture,
Spatial Analysis,
Feature attribution,
Creation of map outputs,
Scanning and georeferencing of images,
Translation/conversion of data (including hard-copy maps, topographic maps, site plans, electronic maps, and GPS data) into a common format.

Minimum requirements
To be successful in this role we are looking for Candidates with previous experience in the following;
Use of ArcGIS v10 suite of software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (MS Access experience is desirable),
Desirable Experience:
Experience of GPS/mobile data capture,
Use of other GIS software (i.e. MapInfo),
Working with various mapping, imagery and vector datasets both in the UK and Globally,
Use of spatial analyst and 3D analyst,
Programming in Python/ArcObjects,
AutoCAD.
We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision.
As there will be interaction with internal and external clients good communication skills are essential. Attention to detail and production of quality outputs is essential. Ideally the potential candidate would be available to start with immediate effect.
