Thank you to all that have already completed the survey! If you haven't yet done so, we shall keep the survey open until the end of March. We greatly appreciative anyone who takes the time to complete it!
Description:
Dear Colleagues in Health Sciences research, on behalf of the York Trials Unit, University of York.
The h-index is an index that attempts to measure both the productivity and impact of published work. Based on an individual’s most cited papers and the number of citations that they have received in other publications it can be used to look at the productivity and impact of both individuals and groups of academics.
We currently do not really know what a 'good' h- index is or what the distribution of this index is in our community of HSR but we hope to be able to provide a preliminary description of this by collecting information in a short questionnaire (10-15 minutes).
The questionnaire asks you to use Google Scholar to produce your h-Index metrics. If you have never used Google Scholar you may need to create a profile but this is quick and simple. If you have published under a different surname, or a group authorship name, you will need to search under all of your surnames and group names and include these in your Google scholar profile. Again quick and simple. Alternatively you might wish to use the free software Publish or Perish if this is more convenient as this uses Google Scholar as its source. Please don't use Web of Science or Scopus as they will generate a different value.
By completing this short and simple questionnaire

you would be helping us and discovering your own h-index in the process! We would be very grateful if as many people as possible could complete this using the link above.
You may leave the list at any time by sending the command
