That's a fabulous resource; thank you.
I have one concern, however. The copyright notice at the foot of each
page links to a page saying:
<begin quote>
The following are prohibited without prior written consent from the
Royal Academy of Arts:
* Public performance or display
* Sale, rental, leasing or lending of material on the website
* Republication of site content in any other medium
* Reproduction, extraction, manipulation or storage of content in any
retrieval system, website or computer programme
Other prohibitions may apply. If you wish to make use of any content
on www.royalacademy.org.uk the onus rests with you to ensure that you
are not infringing copyright law.
Ownership
Copyright in all materials, work or content featured on
www.royalacademy.org.uk remains the property of the Royal Academy of
Arts and other copyright holders.
<end quote>
and yet some of the material concerned is clearly out of copyright by
dint of age. While I appreciate that the aforesaid notice is probably
a boilerplate text, it is likely to have a chilling on the reuse of
public domain material. Please can it be amended, to make clear that
the RA isn't attempting to assert copyright on PD material?
