Working hours: Part-time
Job type: Contract
Salary: £1000 per month (approx.)
LAC Group is seeking a dynamic individual to provide the cataloguing and

independent judgment. This position is approx. 1/2 time for a suitably
qualified and proficient appointee. All necessary equipment, software and
training will be provided.
Position Duties:
· Perform cataloguing/captioning on digital images, videos, and films;
· Work within defined metadata standards and maintain cataloguing
guidelines for digital images, videos, and films;
· Gain knowledge of and provide guidance on the use of various established
and evolving metadata schemas for digital image collections;
· Work with the company leadership and clients to improve quality and
throughput;
Experience and Qualifications:
Education:
A qualification in Library/Archive/Information Science from an accredited
institution and/or a BA in an arts-related field would be preferred.
Experience & Skills:
· Cataloguing or metadata management in a library, museum, or archive
setting strongly preferred;
· Handling rare or fragile materials, such as slides, photographs, and
film;

· Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, in addition
to being highly organized and able to work as part of a team;
· Computer literacy is a requirement with demonstrated expertise using
Excel and Photo Mechanic (or equivalent);
· Knowledge of digital and video image files and formats is preferred.
Location:
The work of scanning the images is to be undertaken at the premises of a
leading supplier of document scanning and archiving services in
Warwickshire, close to Nuneaton. Preference may be given to an applicant
who can carry out the cataloguing at these premises, since access to
original materials is necessary.
However, since aptitude is ultimately more important than location, it may
be possible to move the materials elsewhere.
