Thanks, Bill. That is one of my favourites, too. It wouldn't work as a
poem-poem, it isn't a short story although it has narrative yet it has all
of the elements of a poem in it. So, the natural term for it is - prose
poem. Thank you for bringing that up as an example.
Anecdote: My friend and learned poet, Dennis Haskell, and I used to sit
down and look at each others WIP. It only lasted a short while, this
workshopping, but it gave me a wonderful insight into how different all us
poets are! I showed him a draft of a prose poem one day, and his response
was: "Hmmm ... You could cut that up into lines and make it a* real* poem
..."
