A lot of writers I am reading on the gayauthors.org site are hobbyist
and untrained writers. They appear to receive most of their training
from forum discussions, which is not good since this is uninformed and
poorly thought. It is a good illustration of how the internet is a
cliché making mechanism.
What I did notice, also, is the huge difference between my untidy ms
early drafts and the published writings by hobbyist at gayauthors.org.
Hard to illustrate here, but my formal training really does show up,
compared to hobbyist. It is like we are different pages and different
worlds. Perhaps the closest I can come is hobbyist photographers and pro
trained photographers... again different pages with nothing to share.
