learn more about collections relating to India in the British Library.

The visit will include
* Information and treasures from the renowned India office
collections. The India Office Records are the repository of the archives
of the East India Company (1600-1858), the Board of Control or Board of
Commissioners for the Affairs of India (1784-1858), the India Office
(1858-1947), the Burma Office (1937-1948), and a number of related
British agencies overseas. The focus of the India Office Records is in
the territories now included in India, Pakistan, Burma and Bangladesh
and their administration before 1947

ALISS delegates arrive
Collect visitor's passes, put hats and coats away in Lockers, purchase
exhibition tickets.

Delegates picked up.
A curator from the India Office will be present at the desk to take
delegates up to the first item on the schedule.

Delegates will briefly learn about the composition of the records as
well as some of the subject matter they cover.

Delegates will be shown a selection of documents from the India Office
Records Collection and be able to ask questions.

Exhibition Curator Malini Roy will give a brief introduction to the
exhibition before taking delegates down the public canteen.
