Apologies for cross posting
Dear colleagues,
The hospital we are based in is being refurbished and the next stage of the plan is to move the Library and Medical Education Centre elsewhere. Initial plans are based on a pre-existing space and in this arrangement the Library stands to lose about 50 sq metres. Having been informed by the architect that there probably wouldn’t be any need for the library in years to come and that e-resources reduce the space we need anyway I am trying to prepare a response. There is also a possibility that a new building may be made available and in that case I want to be ready.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and come up with a fantastic argument to counter these points? Alternatively have you had to put a proposal together for increasing the space you already have? I’ve got an SLA and have included the GMC requirement along with the GMC survey results but any other suggestions would be very welcome.
Please reply to me off-list using the details below but I will summarise for the list if others would be interested.
Best wishes,
Felicity Armstrong
