LOL people are already past the year I was born. ;)
I am indebted to Martin for his work on the Leics SMR! (Nice to virtually meet you!) I guess Pete beat you to retirement, just. And strange to think you moved to Essex from Leicestershire and I moved to Leicestershire from Essex...

Alison,
Your former colleague and my counterpart in Central Beds is keeping suspiciously quiet on this - does Stephen Coleman win the title as longest serving and in the same place?

I started with the Wiltshire HER in 1977, then went to Bedfordshire, before coming to Essex.

Peter has beaten me with the Friday question but here's another.
After the ALGAO HER committee meeting this week there was some discussion of who might be the longest serving SMR/HER officer. It was certainly me amongst that gathering but I'm pretty sure I can remember some of you from when I started in December 1990. Anyone like to claim this honour?
